In January 2016, Photographer Julian Apse and I spent three weeks in Tasmania’s magnificent wilderness filming and photographing a series of new content to promote the Tasmanian Walking Company’s different guided walks and sailing trips. Covering land, air and sea we explored the rugged mountains and forests of the Overland Track, The stunning coastline and waterways of the East Coast and the unique and iconic Bay of fires. As we were travelling into very remote areas for up to 6 days at a time we needed to be self sufficient from a production and filming perspective and carry everything we needed in single (Huge) back pack! The benefit of this type of deep immersion production was that we were able to document unique and detailed aspects of each journey that would never have been possible on a traditional shoot.
